When it’s Seamus playing at being a mountain goat!!!

I apologise for this blurred photo but I was laughing so much I couldn’t keep my hands straight when I had to click quickly! Philip wants to change Seamus’s name to Mayhem, but I thought since his surname is O’Trouble, maybe we should call him “Lots” :-) )

You may or may not remember the trouble we had with Seamus biting the washing machine hose months ago. I talked about it in my May 29 entry. Anyway, as well as adding the extra pipe over the hose, Philip also put bricks behind the washing machine to stop Seamus from getting around the back.

So, for 4 months we had a peaceful existence with the washing machine ……… until last night!

What is it that Robert Burns said? “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men / Gang aft a-gley.”

Translated, it comes out as “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry”!

Ain’t that the truth!!!!

I was in the kitchen and heard a noise in the laundry, so went there and turned on the light. What did I find? Seamus in the laundry trough, busily gnawing away at the hose which goes into the trough!

I couldn’t for the life of me imagine how he managed to get up there so went and asked Philip if he put Seamus in the trough for some reason. “Oh no!” Philip replied. “He’s worked out how to get up the back of the machine!”

We put him on the floor and, yup, you guessed it, he went straight for the back of the machine and clambered up the bricks like a wretched mountain goat and then he hopped from the machine right into the trough and started to chew on the hose again!!

I had rushed off to get the camera but as I said, I was giggling so hysterically that I couldn’t take a clear picture!

The back of the machine is starting to look like the Berlin Wall, with all the bricks we have stacked up there! Oh dear!

Well, we have put another brick up there and I’ve got my fingers crossed that my crazy silvermitt will not be able to climb up there now but only time will tell!
