Update on Kaos
It’s been almost a week since Kaos has been on her latest formula and although she seems quite bright, her stomach is still swollen and looks like it’s full of fluid
The vet did say that it’d be okay to increase her dose of flusapex because she hasn’t been getting a high dose all these months so I might just look at putting it back to .5mls twice a day to see if it reduces her stomach.
As you can see, Kaos has no problems with her appetite, thank goodness
Poor little girl – I was just watching her trying to get into the chest of drawers a few minutes ago and her belly was certainly hampering her. In fact, I had to give her a hand by lifting her back legs so that she could slip into the drawer easily.
Obviously there are no cures for her disease but I would be so happy to keep her going for as long as I can as long as she’s not in pain or suffering, and so far (touch wood) she doesn’t appear to be.
I have fingers crossed that she won’t suddenly go downhill during the Christmas break, when my vet’s surgery is closed. I think this is a (sick) ferret owner’s worst nightmare!

Hi Bill
Kaos asked me to pass on her thanks for your good wishes and to tell you she enjoyed her hug and kiss
Re the Chinese medicine – I told Kamila what Western medicine Kaos was on and filled out an online consultation form so she prepared the formula based on that. I have no idea what is in the formula, apart from what she wrote down, which I copied on my blog.
She said it would work with Kaos’ diuretic and heart medication, plus I was to give the old formula to her as well as they worked well together.
I’ll keep you posted on her progress as time goes by and thanks again for all your concern
HEY NONA
it’s bill
it’s good to see kaos as a apatite and wants to climb even if she needs help. That’s a real good sign.
But may i suggest writing down all
the herbs and meds she’s on and have your herbal friend take a good look at each of them.
just to make sure there isn’t a herb that’s causing a negative reaction to one the meds or herbs,
or getting to much of something. The website i told you about has
has lots of info on
“counter reactions” to other herbs. and when “not to give a herb do to a certain sick organ.” which may be what the swelling is about. Hopefuly you will figure it
out soon. give kaos a hug & kiss for me yours truely
