Well it certainly didn’t take long for Kaos to whisper about the gaps in our new sofa to Snoopy, and for Snoopy to go and investigate.Snoopy being Snoopy didn’t really like the thought of having to climb back out the same way so she scratched a hole in the bottom and ended up on the floor under the sofa.

However, the thing that made the sofa perfect in my opinion (having short legs so that the ferrets couldn’t get underneath and scratch to get into the sofa that way) turned out to be not so perfect because Snoopy was stuck.

So what does Snoopy do?

She just scratched away inside and caused my already graying hair to turn grayer.I had to lift the sofa and yank my dear sweet ferret out from underneath and the thought of doing that every time was not an option, especially as I’ve got rotator cuff tears and am due back into hospital next month to get them sewn up.Philip had the bright idea of putting the sofa up on bricks so that the ferrets could get in and out that way. The look I gave him would have withered a medusa. No, I decided the only thing to do was to get him to cut a flap at the back of the sofa so that they could come and go at their pleasure and that might even save wear and tear on the back of the sofa as the traffic wouldn’t be so heavy. So that’s what he did!Kaos went up the usual way and then scratched around inside, so I squeaked by the flap and she found it, and after that she scampered off to tell the others.

All of them investigated and thought it was great fun to be able to have a secret hideaway from the world. I just hope they don’t use it as a stash house.

How long did the pristine new sofa last? Less than 5 days from go to woe.

Oh well, that’s all part and parcel of owning these enchanting little creatures! :-) )
