   hello, I have a ferret to 7 months, female, sly, like all and decided that she was very lonely and bought another one, a puppy, but the pattern of the elder was very strange, I wonder if it is normal, because her first reaction was to bite the little neck of the puppy and the more I try to let it together she always bites him in the same place as I do not know if it is normal I would like some advise or help if possible!

     Hi Fabiana

     Can you get a product called “Bitter Apple” spray in Italy? If you can’t, then go to your vet and ask them to give you some ointment which they put on dogs and cats to stop them from pulling out stitches after an operation. It has a horrible taste but is not dangerous if they swallow it.

     If you get the spray or the ointment, I would suggest you put it on your new baby’s neck so that when your old ferret goes to bite it, she won’t like the taste and will stop.

     Some ferrets are very friendly to newcomers, others can get jealous and until the pecking order is established, then you could have fights. I think that once you put the stuff on your new one’s neck then it should help to make things better
