Rudy’s Ferret Rant
I read about this in the FML so checked it out myself. My goodness! I couldn’t believe that ANY politician could be so rude and totally insulting to someone over the phone.
We are all passionate about our “weasels”, as he so disparagingly called our pets, and I really hate to think what I would have said to him if he’d spoken to me in the same manner.

The mayor’s response was a mix of tough love, philosophy, and psychotherapy.

It’s all about ignorance and prejudices. People like Giuliani have no clue that ferrets are, basically, in the same category in this country as dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. He thinks they’re annoying wild animals and, of course, with that worldview it makes sense to think that anyone who loves & spends lots of time with said aforementioned annoying wild animals is crazy.
The problem, of course, is that Giuliani’s worldview is cockeyed and has nothing to do with reality. At least as far as ferrets are concerned.
Substitute “rabbits” for “ferrets” and do you think Giuliani would have the same opinion? Of course not.

It’s really frustrating to fight City Hall, isn’t it.
I know a lot of Queenslanders have petitioned the State Government to allow ferrets there. I mean, for crying out loud, they have cane toads hopping around killing wildlife over there, they have crocs killing humans over there, but they ban people from having ferrets.
How utterly, utterly stupid.
IT is obvious to me that giuliani
has no love for ferrets, never had
a ferret, or even dealt with a ferret outside of politics.
And has no idea just how much they have given to mankind. IF he did, then maybe he would take a closer look.
