Polecat is back in town!
How cool is this news? Apparently polecats disappeared from this particular area during WWI, so it’s been a while without the little mustelid.Hopefully the polecats will go forth and multiply and not get trapped or killed by people, or cars, or dogs, or whatever else!

John WilliamsTHE polecat is returning to the Cheshire countryside for the first time in nearly a century.
Wildlife experts have reported sightings of the animal near Macclesfield, Wilmslow and Middlewich. With its long cat-sized body, bushy tail and black and white face, the polecat is easily recognisable.
Now the Cheshire Wildlife Trust is appealing for anyone sighting of the polecat – which is a member of the weasel family – to notify officials so they can monitor its return to the county.
