Otterly Adorable :-)
I came across a number of feel good articles about otters the other day … AND also found this fabulous site which shows an otter playing with what looks like a ping pong ball. My goodness it’s so dexterous!
Mind you, knowing how ferrets hold our fingers with their paws, I shouldn’t be surprised to see an otter playing so naturally!!

You can see the otter happily playing with that ball here….

The orphaned otter was about 5 days old and still had her umbilical cord attached when she came ashore July 21 at Jalama Beach. Wildlife officials don’t know why the pup was abandoned by her mother.

Hahaha – yes, I know the feeling well
Have you read “Ring of Bright Water” by Gavin Maxwell? The book talks about how he brought a smooth-coated otter back from Iraq and raised it in Scotland.
If my memory serves me well, there was also a film based on the book made back in the 60s (I think).
I haven’t read the book but Philip has, and he said it was really a brilliant story!
I love otters…. second to ferrets. But I think they are both very loveable! I think that first otter was having a blast playing with his ball. If only I could get my ferret to stay that interested in one toy….
