What does, I hear you ask?

The bad rap ferrets seem to get Free TagWorld Smilies

Oh how it annoys me!!

AND what also really gets my goat is that so often the bad impression is perpetuated by stupid humans who show the ferret up in a bad light.

There is a bikie gang in NSW called “`The Finks” and they are all driving across the Nullarbor to visit our fair city some day soon.  Not good for us but my BP climbed sky-high when I saw the Finks’ spokesman being interviewed on TV.

He was your typical, ugly bikie gang member – revolting tattoos all over, bald head with a grey stubble glinting in the light, silly wispy grey beard on his chinny chin chin and what was his name?  FERRET!

bikie

For crying out loud – why did he have to chose that moniker?!  Why not Pitbull or Akita or Grizzly Bear? I’m not being horrible to Pitbull, Akita or grizzly bear owners, I just think the name would suit a bikie better than “Ferret”!

And then, to add insult to injury … I was watching some old reruns of an English TV cop show called “The Bill” and in one episode, two detectives go to see some smelly old homeless guy who’s their “snout” (informer).

They find him and when one of the detectives tries to hang onto his arm,  ”Missy”, the ferret he has with him, bites her on the hand before running away.

The old guy won’t give the detectives the information they want until they find Missy for him, so the next scene is of one of the lady detectives roaming around the bushes near the shopping centre, calling for Missy, and all the smart mouthed teenagers are laughing at her.

She finds Missy inside a dumpster (how does a ferret get into a dumpster by itself, I asked!), furtling around for food.

There always seems to be that very obvious implication that ferret owners are some kind of weirdos — tramps, poachers or whatever — but rarely do we see ferret owners as being ordinary folk who’ve just fallen in love with a very special little creature who’s managed to twist their owner’s heartstrings into knots!
