I must say my ferrets constantly manage to confused me with their ever-changing tastes and dislikes.

Let me explain … I swapped our small dog bed, which I got for the ferrets when Snoopy was ill (thinking it’d be a nice hammock for her but it was too firm), with our daughter’s one which was much smaller and had a hessian base.
We brought it home and I put it next to the chest of drawers thinking that Kahlua will be thrilled with it as she always treats my lap like a hammock when I’m wearing a dress or my nightie and loves just lying there.
Well, Kahlua jumped right off it when I put her on it but Muis thought it was wonderful.  I put a couple of old shirts on top and she’d burrow down and sleep there very happily.
I didn’t want to leave the hessian as the base as it was very smelly and I thought it’d be too scratchy and uncomfortable for her so was having a think about how to replace the base. Philip, as usual, came up with the solution.
We got an old pillowcase and cut two little holes at the closed end, then threaded it through, et voila!  One very chic and soft hammock for Muis to lie on and enjoy.

HAH!
She HATES it!  I can’t believe that she preferred having a dirty old hessian sack to lie on instead of a nice cotton base but it looks like she does.  She won’t lie on it now and even Kahlua isn’t impressed with the new fangled hammock. I even put her inside the pillowcase, thinking she’d think that was a real treat but she just stuck her head out and looked at me as if I was mad to put her in there.
Phooey!
