I’m thinking of renaming Seamus …!
Butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, would it? Look at him, lying there so innocently!! Trouble? Who me? Neah!
Well, I reckon Seamus should be called Noah as he is definitely my water weasel, or otter even.
I told you about him taking bottle tops off and flooding the floor with the contents. Now he has moved on to more challenging things – as I found out to my horror last week.
I turned on the washing machine and went off but had reason to return to the laundry a few minutes later. You can imagine my distress when I saw water flooding the floor! I switched off the machine and pulled it away from the wall, wondering where the leak was coming from. It was from the external rubber hose, so I naturally assumed the wretched thing had split. I turned the machine off and rang the warranty people, only to find out external items weren’t included in the warranty. I had to go and get a hose myself from the manufacturer.
When my darling husband came home, he said he could repair it himself but when he looked at it, he told me that the hose didn’t split — there were tiny little teeth marks from which the water was spurting out.
Hmmm, teeth marks. Seamus?? You bet!
Anway, Philip fixed it all and I pushed the machine firmly against the wall so Seamus couldn’t get around the back and everything was fine until this morning.
I had to call the technician in because the machine made a dreadful noise during its final spin on Monday. It transpired that a spring had broken loose, so now I’m without a machine until they order the spare part from the east. That’s okay. But silly me – when the machine was inspected and the guy left, I didn’t think to push it back hard against the wall again.
This morning I hear noises coming from the laundry and wondered if Seamus was playing with the plug, which the technician had taken out of the power point and dropped to the floor. Oh no – nothing like that. The little angel was attacking the hose again and there was some water on the floor, which means he’s bitten through the pipe again.
* sigh *
I’ve started a new decorating trend – a mop in every room ….! Looks most uncool
