I’m baaaaaaack! :-)
And I am SO HAPPY to be back — seeing our kids, coming back home and back to our dog and … and … and … getting our ferrets back from our good friend who did a marvellous job looking after them! We landed in Perth early on Wednesday morning after a ghastly 30-hour trip back and once we woke up, I was itching to get in the car and collect my babies.
We arrived at Lyn’s place around 2pm and while she kindly bustled around the kitchen making tea, Philip and I went out into the special ferret room she had for our gang.
I called their names and a couple of bleary faces peeked out from under the bedding! I grabbed the boys and it was like a light suddenly came on … “It’s mommy!!” … and they licked my face furiously. Even Seamus, who isn’t a smoochy ferret at all, was covering my face with kisses.
I then got Kahlua and she seemed thrilled to see me but the best hello was from Muis, who just licked and licked and licked my face all over – starting from my forehead and going down to my chin non-stop! It was fabulous
Not wanting to be rude, I put the girls down and went back inside to talk to Lyn and her husband while Philip had his tea and after an hour, we thought we should head back home. I got my gang into the cage and sat with it on my knee for the hour long trip back to our house.
When we got back I put the cage on the bed and opened it up and boy, you should have seen the explosion of happiness!
Angus was doing the most athletic weasel wardance I have ever seen and the other three were rushing around, greeting our dog and just dancing about in the biggest display of joy I have seen for ages!!
It was the best homecoming present ever!
I think that is the beauty of having animals – you know they aren’t “being polite” when they greet you with enthusiasm so the happiness they show is 100% and it really makes me feel great!
So we are slowly getting back to normal and I’m trying to sleep off as much of my jet lag as possible. It’s fun trying to unpack all the suitcases with Angus’s help – much better than when I was packing my suitcase because at least this time I don’t worry about closing the case with him inside!
Our eldest daughter, Alexia, was also in Europe at the same time as I was and it amused me to get this photo, taken in Pamplona (or was it San Sebastian), which she sent to me … I have trained my children well, always on the lookout for all things ferrety

I think it’s great to see the happiness in one’s pets, I really do!
I don’t understand people who have the impression that pets are just animals – with no feelings! They do have feelings, and they are intelligent and loving, especially our ferrets
BoBo sounds a real character and it seems like he has everything sussed in getting you to get let everyone out! He’s one smart cookie, and the girls are pretty smart too, as they let him do all the hard work!
As we say in Oz – Onya girls

Welcome home Nona!!!!
It's so nice to hear when our pets miss us & are happy to see us.
Every Morning my BoBo lays in his hammock staring out, just waiting to hear mine & or Ed's voice. Then the banging on the gate to their room starts & doesn't stop till I open it (He's my only boy.) All my girls let him do all the work at getting our attendtion, then they coming running.
