I hope everyone and their ferrets had a safe and happy time over Christmas and may 2008 be the best year ever – full of love, laughter and prosperity!
We had a couple of stinking hot days on the 25th and the 26th, and I hate to think how any ferret which was living outside would have fared on Boxing Day especially, as the temperature hit 44.2C at 1:30pm.
Our gang were stretched out like long, lean kebabs in our darkened bedroom when we got home from sitting in our youngest daughter’s pool for hours, so I put both air conditioners on and they struggled to cool down the house!
Thankfully the rest of the week was cooler and we had a fairly mild New Year’s Eve with the temperature due to rise to 40C in the next couple of days.
I came across this rather lovely story this morning … all about a Russian polecat befriending a rat!  The rat was put in the polecat’s cage as a yummy treat but instead of eating the rodent, the polecat thought it’d be nicer to cuddle up to it!
What a great feel good story to start the new year off with  :-)
