Going … going …
not yet gone but it’s getting there …!

My poor little lady
As you can see from the photos, she’s losing more and more hair.
Can anyone tell me how long it’ll take before the melatonin kicks in and restores her hair?
I mean, I certainly don’t care if she is totally bald, as long as she’s in as good shape as possible, but I do worry about her feeling chilly or uncomfortable without her coat.
Apart from going bald, she seems in pretty good spirits.
She wanders around the house and comes to say hello when I’m working in our study. She goes up to Zac and licks him on his nose before continuing on her way. She likes coming under the doona and night and cuddling us.
She acts like she did before getting this wretched cancer and all things considered, I am grateful that whatever I’m giving her seems to help improve her quality of life.

oh poor dear Muis!if I only could help her!
but I’m glad to hear that she is in good spirits..brave little heart!
please, give her a tender hug and lot of kisses for me!
Thank you so much, Dada. She really appreciated your concern, your hug and all the kisses. She said it made her day brighter
She looks like a little fuzzball, maybe a trip to your local sock counter for something “groovy” to keep her warm on cooler days.
Hahaha – tried that already, Tracy! Philip got one of his socks and cut some holes in it then put it on her. She walked right out and left it behind, like a snake shedding its skin! LOL!~
Maybe a sport sock would be better – something thicker, perhaps, which would be more difficult to shimmy out of.
Will try one out and let you know if it works
Nona ,
I have No idea !!! I never really asked. The way I understood it is that Icey surgery would solve her problem. The one thing, I picked up from talking to the vet is I could go without the surgery & live with her the way she was. You know the shape Icey was in as far as hair loss go\’s. I asked about the melatonin. All I got was it can\’t hurt. that it\’s a relatively safe drug. Nothing on if it would work or how fast. I\’m sorry. Please give Muis a big kiss for me, We are all praying for her & you as well.
Thanks so much for that, JC. I gave Muis a big kiss and she asked me to thank you for it! She loved it
The only things on hair regrowth are for the implant, and that can take up to 6-8 weeks to see improvement, so probably something similar, would be my guess. Also, I have read that adjusting light periods sometimes boosts the effects of melatonin (making sure that ferrets receive 13-15 hrs of light in the summer and 6-7 hrs of light in the winter). It\’s worth a try
Good luck and give fert-y kisses to your crew for me!
Many thanks for the heads up, Sunny. It’s only been 3 weeks so we still have a while to go. I hope that by the end of September she’ll be sprouting some fuzz on her backside
The awesome foursome thank you for their kisses and send kisses right back to you and your trio!
