Ferrets add to charity day fun
I am amazed that ferret racing isn’t a “normal” event in North Wales. Certainly we see it happening in England and I just assumed that it would be something which would have been well known all around Britain. The photo of the pipes was taken at the ferret races held by WAFFS – it was while ago and the girl with the ponytail is our youngest daughter, Danielle.
Kahlua is the ferret looking out of the pipe (and that was taken at home)

Daily PostCHARITY fundraisers are ferreting out supporters for a day at the races with a difference.
Visitors to Betws y Coed’s charity fun day, on Sunday at St Mary’s Church car park, will be encouraging visitors to the event to take part in a bizarre new sport – ferret racing.
A number of races are planned throughout the day where ferrets are raced though drain pipes. The first ferret to poke his head out at the other end of the pipe is the winner.
NCH Cymru fundraiser for North Wales Abigail Henderson said: “The usual fun day attractions like a bouncy castle, a coconut shy, face painting and Mr Alexander’s Travelling Show will be available, but we are expecting quite a crowd to support the most unusual event of the day – the Ferret Races.”Ferrets and drainpipes go together well and the ferrets seem to love being the centre of attention for the event.
