European Polecat
Just to let you know I’ve finally finished my page about the European Polecat and got it up!
It’s quite amazing to see how similar the polecats are in appearance to a dark sable ferret and I guess when they’re trying to find out if the “pure” polecat numbers in England have increased, it would be difficult to work out if they were ferrets or not.
As an example, I put a picture of my gorgeous boy, CJ, there. He’s no longer with us unfortunately but he certainly was a handsome fella in his day and to my mind looked very much like a European Polecat
Angus is still getting picked on by the girl – and this is going on for its 5th week. You’d think those witches would be used to him now. Still … I’m still splashing that foul tasting goop all over his head and back and now his feet, since Kahlua goes for the unprotected bits of him, so serves them right if they get a bitter mouthful.
He is such a delightful little man. I’ve never had a ferret that played with objects before – he grabs things like the dog’s kong, or an empty water bottle on the floor, and he just has a ball interacting with them. It is so great to watch.
He also is like a flea with his weasel wardance – bounces all over the place and it gets a bit worrying when he’s on our bed, as I worry he’ll fly off and break a leg. So far no problems and I hope it stays that way
