I was pottering around the internet, looking to see what else would be good for Muis to boost her system and came across a product called Transfer Factor Plus.

It sounds like it’s a wonder supplement and there are all sorts of glowing testimonials about how this product helped all kinds of dogs and cats to recover from serious conditions.

There was also a testimonial from a lady who used Transfer Factor Plus on her ferret and it helped her ferret to recover from serious illness…

As you can see from the photos, she’s losing more and more hair.

Can anyone tell me how long it’ll take before the melatonin kicks in and restores her hair?  

I mean, I certainly don’t care if she is totally bald, as long as she’s in as good shape as possible, but I do worry about her feeling chilly or uncomfortable without her coat.

Apart from going bald, she seems in pretty good spirits.

I was trying to find out how long it’d take for the melatonin to work on Muis and for her hair to grow back.  I didn’t come up with anything definite but found some videos and articles which I thought would be of interest to any ferret owner whose ferret has insulinoma &/or adrenal problems.  I don’t endorse any of the content on this post – I’ve just added them for interesting reading/watching

What are the melatonin side effects?

It came on Friday and I started her on it immediately.

The instructions said to give it to her twice a day, which I did, but after a couple of days I heard her retching and trying to throw up so I thought I’d stop the evening dose.

I emailed Kamila and asked her advice and she agreed with what I did, saying that the formula was fairly strong and if I was also giving Muis her melatonin tablet every day, it would be fine to just give her the TCM once a day.

I got the formula on Monday and, according to the instructions, I am to give it to Kaos every other day for a week, before making it once a day.  I also have to give her the Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang formula daily so that there’s a balance.
