Angus is now a wallet thief!
I got this straight from the horse’s mouth just a couple of days ago ☺
Thank goodness Philip saw Angus making off with his wallet and followed him to see that Angus had slipped under the sofa to stash it.
Then just this morning I got an email from Philip saying he almost ripped out what remaining hair he has looking for his wallet again. He was getting frantic as it wasn’t under the sofa or any of the other hiding places Angus stashes his ill-gotten gains but he finally found it under my armchair – obviously a new spot!
Never before, in the 14 plus years of having ferrets, has a wallet been of interest to any of my ferrets except now!
When Philip told me about the first instance, I laughed and reminded him that it is always OUR fault if the ferrets run off with something of ours because we forgot to put the item safely out of the way.
Then another day when we were messaging each other on Skype, I was asking him how the gang was and, as usual, moaning about missing them all. He turned on the video, rushed out of the study and came back with Angus and Kahlua, swinging in his hands. He pressed both their noses close to the camera for a “kiss” then off he went to get Muis, who also “kissed” the camera.
I was so thrilled to see my babies in real time! I just wish I could have reached into the video and hugged them. It sounds ridiculous, I know, and only another ferret lover would understand the feeling

I’ve been in Seillans, in the south of France, with my sister and brother-in-law just over 2 weeks now and while I am having a lovely time with them, they are not animal lovers. They think I’m mad to have ferrets and they certainly don’t understand the appeal – my sister says they remind her of snakes, the way they slink and move! Snakes?
But I miss my babies (and my husband, of course ☺) and am looking forward to getting back to Perth to see them all.
Philip is leaving on Saturday to join me so the ferrets are being taken to a friend of ours. She is also a ferret lover and will be babysitting them till the beginning of October when we return. I know they will be looked after wonderfully but still … I will be counting the days till we get back and can pick them up and bring them back home.
Today we’re heading down to Cannes again and there’s a jewellery store there called Ferret. I had my photo taken there last year when I was over and that’s about as close as I have come to seeing a French Ferret ☺

Nona Your Philip remines me of my ED. Love the ( Silly Man ) comment.
I wonder if your Angus is related to my BoBo? BoBo keeps taking my cigarette’s, he doesn’t crew on them, just hides thwm, I find them every where under the TV in the drawer. I think he’s trying to tell me something.
I enjoy reading your stories.
