A very lucky little ferret …

I read an article in the Wicked Local Somerville and thought, Wow – that ferret was such a lucky little animal.
Can you believe it? Someone threw this little albino girl into a DUMPSTER!! Fortunately a waste management contractor found the ferret, took her home and now she’s part of the family.
God, how fortunate was that?
I honestly do not understand people who think it’s okay to be cruel to animals – why do they do it? Couldn’t they have put an ad in a paper to give the ferret away, or even sell her? Why dump the poor thing.
When a good friend of mine was doing the Ferret Rescue post for WAFFS, she’d call me up and tell me some awful stories about ferrets which they rescued or found … one albino boy was kicked so hard in his ribs that, despite medical assistance, he died.
Another ferret was always getting out of his owner’s property and ending up next door at the neighbor’s so the neighbor got fed up and threw the ferret into the owner’s wheelie bin (those big green bins for household rubbish). Of course he didn’t tell the owner so the ferret was stuck there for days and died there.
Makes you see red, doesn’t it.

jesus said that the way you treat the smallest of my brothers is the way you treat me.
It really is depressing to think of how horrible people can be to animals.
Just the other day I got an email from our eldest daughter, Alexia, with this news article
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,23080354-2,00.html
I sometimes feel like throwing those people in dumpsters that they can’t get out of and see how they enjoy the experience.
I think this quote by James Anthony Froude says it all ….
“Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow-creatures is amusing in itself.”
I was happy to read that there was a happy ending for Sage. But when I hear of situations such as the ones you mentioned in your post, I am saddened and amazed. I find it incredible that anyone could be cruel or even mean to a ferret. Which is why I am paranoid about making sure that Chloe never gets lost.
HEY NONA
I know what you mean.
I think that’s why i spoil my
little ones so much, it just doesn’t make since how some people
can be so cruel.
