Wishing all everyone and their ferrets (and dogs and cats, of course) a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and may 2011 be a really HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope the new year brings nothing but good things for you and your pets
Hasn’t the weather gone totally crazy this month? I’ve been reading about the dreadful snow storms in the US, the UK and on the Continent … I hope your ferrets enjoy weasel wardancing in the snow
However did you guys know that people in New South Wales are also having a white Christmas? Now that really IS weird, since it’s summer down under!!!
I was selected to be a featured blogger for Pet Blogs United and it was a joy to write about how ferrets first came into my life.
It brought back so many memories of Mash, the fun we had together and the things she taught me about their wonderfully quirky habits. I got quite snottery when I remembered her funny little personality and the very unco weasel wardance she used to do
I do recommend people to visit the site. There are quite a number of pet blogs featured there but they’re mainly about dogs and cats, so if you have a ferret blog, it’d be great if you got your blog listed there as well.
What better way to educate pet lovers about the best pet in the world
There are some adorable photos of a mother otter and her 3 pups “skating” on a lake in Somerset, in the UK, in this Daily Mail article.
Mama Otter found where the ice was the thinnest, made a small hole and went fishing. Must have been a cold experience – thank goodness they have such thick pelts to protect them from the elements
Hmmm, not sure I get the meaning of this ad but I thought it was cute nonetheless
I bought one bottle of Fursty Ferret beer last year ~ @ $6.99 a bottle I could only afford one LOL ~ and still have the bottle, just for the label. If you’re wondering why they named the beer “Fursty Ferret”, here’s the reason …
According to the blurb on the label, “when in decades past the idyllic country home of Miss Rose Gribble became a local inn, legend has it that the inquisitive local ferrets frequented the pub’s back door on a mission to sample its own reputed brew. In their honour it was named Fursty Ferret.”
Of course one should never give one’s ferret (or any other pet for that matter) alcohol to drink but it would appear these English ferrets certainly appreciated having a drop or two if what the blurb said is true. But, of course, it could just be a marketing ploy
