Thank goodness someone is devoting time and research into helping ferrets and the various diseases which so often take them away from us way too early.
Researchers at MSU College of Veterinary Medicine are concentrating on conoviruses, rotaviruses, mycoplasmosis, coccidiosis and adrenal cortical neoplasms in ferrets.
They’ve discovered coronaviruses in ferrets seems to come in two forms — enteric and systemic.
The enteric form is known as Epizootic Catarrhal Enteritis (ECE or Green Slime disease) while the systemic form has similar symptoms but ferrets with this virus could develop masses in the abdomen as well.

Now how about that! I read that the Governor of Kansas’ family have two ferrets which have joined them in the governor’s mansion!

It’s a shame that the news article refers to the ferrets as “onery”. It would have been far more helpful if they’d written a glowing report about how wonderful these ferrets are and how happy they make the Kansas First Family members. I guess we can’t wish for too much and it certainly is great progress that it was mentioned at all!

Now that’s service …
I wish I lived in the States because if I did, I would grab my ferrets and head down to Florida for a holiday
Apparently they are opening a new resort for pets at the Walt Disney World Resort for dogs, cats and … wait for it … for ferrets too, as well as other “pocket pets”!

How much more fun would it be to go away with your ferrets for a fun holiday at Disney World, hey! LOL!
