Burnt balls! Ouch!!!!

Poor little fellows … see how they remove their testicles these days. It looks really painful but you wouldn’t think anything was wrong by the way they weasel wardanced and pounced on each other and the girls the day after the big event so it obviously looks much worse than it feels.

It’ll take about a week for the hormones to flush out of their system and then all the full male smells and greasy fur should disappear and I’ll have two lovely metrosexual males in the house. Arf arf.

Angus’ weird habit!

I’ve never had a ferret before who sucks on his paw! He is such a funny little man!

It usually happens when he gets picked on by either one of the girls or Seamus – obviously it’s too traumatic for him and he goes to sleep sucking on his paw, like he has a pacifier in his mouth.

It’s not ringworm – phew :-)

I noticed Muis had a sore on her thigh two weeks ago and so kept an eye on it. It was a little “wet” at first, then I saw a scab form so thought it was getting better.

A few days later I saw the scab wasn’t there anymore and it was wet again, and the sore had a circular shape to it so I thought, “Uh ho! Please let it not be ringworm!”

Aren’t these little creatures just so cute? I wish I could take a quick trip to Tsubetsu just to get a look at them in person :-)

When we were holidaying in Langkawi, a small town in Malaysia, a few years ago, I noticed from the hotel’s pamphlet about local animals that sea otters were around by the walkboards along the coast.

I hunted high and low and asked the staff if there were any otters only to be told that they aren’t around at that time of year, so I was really disappointed.
