Mele Kalikimaka :-)

To all my ferret friends and their ferrets

Best wishes to you and your pets for a wonderful Christmas and may 2007 be the best year ever!

I hope you have a safe and happy Yuletide and look forward to catching up with you all again in the New Year.

And to all ferret lovers who live in the warmer climes — please remember to keep your ferrets COOL if they are in cages outside. You don’t want any of them suffering from heat stress which will result in you making an (expensive) visit to the vet over the Christmas holidays.

Say hello to Angus, my albino ferret!

We collected him on Sunday – all 390 grams of him. Isn’t he just the sweetest little fellow?

When the others saw him, they scattered and were absolutely not impressed. I was surprised that none of the girls showed any motherly interest in taking care of him, as he’s only just 7 weeks old and hardly a threat to any of them.

I thought Milo would be a nice big brother to Angus and supervised them as they played on the bed. Milo seemed to be fine with him, and if it looked like he’d try to nip him I’d say, “No!” and he backed off.

The Otters are Coming!

What excellent news to hear that the otters are returning to the Californian coast!

I remember reading a while ago that otters in California were being killed off by toxoplasmosis so hopefully that has been resolved and these gorgeous little creatures will go forth and multiply and frolick happily where they should be :-)

The Otters are Coming!

A mother Southern sea otter and her pup attract attention frolicking in the Pacific Ocean near Monterey.

California’s sea otters were almost wiped out due to the Great Hunt that started in 1742.

Raise ferrets on your phone with Mo-Pets

Well how about that! We hardly ever see “virtual” ferrets and now Mo-Pets have developed a pocket game with ferrets! Huzzah! About time.

If anyone gets this game, please let me know what it’s like to use, won’t you :-)

Plus cats, dogs, monkeys… but we’re most excited about the ferrets What’s this?
